Medrano said,They had a lot of fun stuff this year, such as competition, and playing at the sun bowl, but his favorite was the border folk festival. They  had some workshops for Mariachi and he had also had the opportunity to have a singing workshop with Jose Hernandez from Mariachi Sol de Mexico in front of everyone in the workshop which was really fun. Also, he got to see a lot of good groups in there.

Medrano said, he felt really good when he performed but he felt really disappointed and depressed when they figure out that they did not make it to state and felt really bad specially for the seniors because they were really exited for state and worked really hard.

“We had a lot fun stuff this year, such as competition, and playing at the sun bowl, but my favorite was the border folk festival. There we had some workshops for mariachi and I also had the opportunity to have a singing workshop with Jose Hernandez from Mariachi Sol de Mexico in front of everyone in the workshop which was really fun. Also got to see a loy of good groups in there”, Castaños said

Castaños said one word to describe his Mariachi year is progressive, he learned a lot throughout the school year and he thinks they all are in a more experienced group than how the year started.

“Although we didn’t get a division 1 this year, I think we did pretty good, and I was happy with my performance, I think we did our best and that is always what matters”, Castaños said.

Castaños said from mariachi he definitely misses gigs the most. He loves playing and sharing their music for other people.

“I was honestly sad, because usually mariachi season doesn’t end until the school year ends. I really enjoyed performing, and since this is my senior year, I was really enjoying the last times playing with the group and hoped playing more”,Castaños said.
