Volleyball season is half way done, the Growler caught up with a volleyball player to ask bout the season.

The varsity volleyball team had high hopes heading into the season and as the first half of the season comes to an end, it was not what they expected. After a promising 2-1 start the team lost the rest of the games.

“My expectations were for us as a team to be stronger compared to last year since we lacked a lot of confidence,” Nataly Herrera, 12, said.

Herrera also said the way to improve the second half of the season is to build confidence and improve defensively and this will lead to more wins. With three games slipping away from them in the first half of the season, the team plans to bounce back and run the table.

“We just need to fix our mentality because not everyone is on the same page,” Leslie Soto, 12, said.

Soto also said that team has been playing better because of the amount of communication the team has on and off the court.

“Our season is not over and [we need to] get more wins this half,” Herrera said.
