Captain Marvel Review

Sebastian Aviña, Writer

The first female protagonist of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), something new, something different from the rest. It is something “epic” in quotes because you have never seen a female protagonist of MCU. It is a movie full of nostalgia and humor. Full of surprising twists, always following the plot of the movie, and a movie for the whole family.
Captain Marvel tells the story of a women named Vers, from the planet Kree, who has supernatural powers as super strength, flight, and energy blasts. However there is a problem, she can not control her powers since her powers depend on her feelings and being restrain from Kree’s technology. Something extravagant is that Vers does not remember anything of her past. As she was being kidnapped, she and the kidnappers, the Skrulls, travels towards Earth where Vers has a past life where she was once a pilot of the United States Air Forces.
Eventually, the film is well based on the past, represent much the decade of the 90’s using clothing, performances, technology and music. Something that gives it a special touch to the film, and the performance of Samuel L. Jackson, who plays as Shield Agent NIck Fury, as he acts before the MCU came to his life. The best thing about this movie is that you can watch it with your family and enjoy this movie for two hours and forget everything.
Another important thing about the film, which is something interesting that is happening nowadays, is what type they represent feminism. Carol Denvers is her name in Earth. A woman who finds herself emotionally and mentally shattered trying to make her personality stronger.
It is a good movie to pass the time, it has a good plot but it fails in some aspects.
