Annesa Martinez and Acasia Humphries are two athletic sisters that are playing in the girls basketball team. Both are top scorers on the team and their next plans are to win a district  championship before Acasia graduates high school. The Growler caught up with Annesa Martinez and Acasia Humphries to ask about their personal background and their time together.

Q:Is it weird having your  sister in the same team?

Annesa: No it’s actually better because we get to communicate with each other better.

Acasia: No, because we have been playing together since the summer.

Q:Do you guys ever get on each others nerves?

Annesa: Yes, a little.

Acasia: Umm yeah, it a lot of pressure on each other.

Q:Do ever get mad at each other for not doing your best on the games?

Annesa: Yes, a lot.

Acasia: Yes actually if you watch the game you can see us arguing with each other.

Q:Do you guys ever compete to see who is the better basketball player?

Annesa: Yes there is always competition between her and me, always.

Acasia: Yes since we are sisters there is always people telling us, “oh your sister is doing this or doing that,” so its a lot of pressure on her and me.

Q:What are yourgoals this year?

Annesa: To win District!

Acasia: Our goal is to win district champions. I mean, its my senior year and our last time playing with each other.

Q:Were you guys excited when you both made the team?

Acasia:  Yeah! We were both excited tosee that we both made the team.

Q:Do you motivate each other when you guys are losing?

Annesa: Yes, because we know each other’s potential.

Q:Who is the better player?

Annesa: Me, of course.

Acasia: Me, i think because i have more experience.

Q:How old were you guys when you started playing?

Annesa: Both of us have been playing since we were in seventh grade.

Acasia:  Since we were little and we’vebeen playing basketball together for like a year.
