Band instructor, Mr. Adam Castañeda said that the music they play is influenced by Beethoven’s “Sound of Silence” which is influenced by himself going deaf, but Mr. Castañeda added a little taste of what he knows about composing.

“I wrote the original music arrangement from Beethoven’s music using music from the Sound of Silence as well and it’s been a fun program,” Mr. Castañeda said.

Drumline leader Mark Coria, 12, said that even though that there’s only very little band members, he likes the bond they have created.

“My favorite thing is meeting new people that join, I feel like the passion and love there is even bigger,” Coria said.

Drum major Craven Chairez,11, said he enjoys going to the football games because they are extremely fun and they get to perform and show their talent to the people.

“My favorite thing to do in band is go to the games because they are crazy fun and we get to perform,” Chairez said.

Band instructor Mr. Adam Castañeda said that in order to get the underclassmen to join band and to get them ready is to give them no choice but to discipline them to staying and working hard.

“I mean the biggest thing is just by word of mouth and getting them to have fun and that was the biggest thing and at the beginning of the year. I kinda gave them no choice you know, I told them “Hey you have to stay” and a couple of them did, a couple of them got around it but those that stayed have been having a lot of fun and they don’t regret just it, like I told them that they wouldn’t,” Castañeda said.
