Joel Cano, 11, plays football and runs track, and he is also part of New Tech. He plays football and runs track since middle school.

Cano said that he has a passion for these two sports, and it makes his stress go away.

“ I have a passion for these two sports because when I play these sports it makes me forget about all the stress I have, and I have fun doing it,” Cano, 11 said.

Cano said that he has gotten really hard hits and caused him to get injured during football season.

“I have been injured multiple times, I’ve broken my elbow and I’ve had multiple hits on my head and gotten concussions,” Joel Cano 11, said.

Cano said that these sports make his stress go away and he enjoys doing them.

“The reason why I joined football was because I love being aggressive and compete against others. I joined track because I like to run and I think I’m a fast runner,” Cano 11, said.

Cano said that the competition in these two sports have been hard and competitive.

“Yes it has, in football is really tough because there is other schools where there are other kids or athletes stronger than you or bigger than you, and in track there’s always the possibility that there’s someone faster than you,” Cano 11, said.

Cano said that his motivation to do these two sports are his family and his girlfriend because they are always there to support him.

“My motivation to do these two sports is mostly my girlfriend and my family, they push me to do the best I could do, and they are always there to support me in every game,” Cano 11, said.

Cano said that before the games he starts getting ready and try to think about the game.

“I just get ready and start focusing for the game and get myself mentally ready to compete,”

Cano said that he always eat before a game starts so that he can feel something in his stomach.

“I always eat before a game or track meet just to have something in my stomach so that I don’t have

an empty stomach, Cano 11, said.

Cano also said that playing sports it’s not hard if you like to someone to be hard on you.

“I don’t think it’s hard it just depends if you really like to be push to your limits and to sometimes be in pain,” Cano 11, said.

Cano said that when they lose a game he feels so bad because he works hard during practice.

“It is always a bad feeling because you worked your heart off to just get that win and you not being able to succeed in the game it really hits you mentally and physically,” Cano 11, said.

Finally, Cano said that he manages his time really good and that when school ends he dedicates all his time to the sport.

“I manage my time by just dedicating myself to the sports after I’m done with school and just being able to manage my time perfectly,” Cano 11, said.
